About Team Kinetix LLC

Team Kinetix, LLC was formed in 2014 when friends and creative partners Austin Basis, Dave Maulbeck, and Josh Taub came together to produce a series of comedy pilots and treatments, including People’s Republic of Improv, Dracula Goes to Camp, Not Your Buddy, The Bathroom Manager, and It’s an Uncomfortable Life. The trio — who first met over 20 years ago performing together at the New York Comedy Club — went on to create and star in the weekly improv and sketch show Mmm… Comedy. With backgrounds in TV, film, and stage, and past collaborations with networks like The CW and Fuse, they’ve built a reputation for crafting heartfelt, hilarious stories about underdogs.

In 2015, they launched their original comic book series The Kinetix through Kickstarter, introducing a team of unlikely teen heroes with disabilities. The campaign was a success and helped bring The Kinetix to life as a 4-issue indie series. Now reimagined as a full-color, 200-page graphic novel for middle-grade readers, The Kinetix and the Glowing Orb of Gorthon continues the team’s mission to prove that being different isn’t a weakness — it’s what makes you super.
